Art News: Photography is the Most Lucrative NFT Sector

Almost anything and everything can be minted and sold as an NFT. But not all types of NFTs are equally popular, notes NFT Plazas. According to a report from e-commerce specialist Remarkable Commerce, photography is by far the most lucrative NFT sector for creators. NFT Plazas notes that the average floor price for a photography NFT on OpenSea is £897.15 (about $970, though currency rates have recently fluctuated). For comparison, the average floor price for a collectable NFT is £435.76 (about $471) and the price for sports NFTs is £64.08 ($69).   Read the full Story >>

Social News: Instagram Will Test Repost Feature

Instagram will test a new “repost” feature giving users the ability to repost other users’ posts and reels. “We’re exploring the ability to reshare posts in Feed — similar to how you can reshare in Stories — so people can share what resonates with them, and so original creators are credited for their work,” a Meta spokesman tells TechCrunch. Currently, there isn’t a direct way to repost another user’s post on Instagram; users who want to reshare posts have to use third-party apps to do so.   Read the full Story >>

The newly announced Nikkor 17-28mm f/2.8 full-frame lens for Nikon’s Z series of cameras combines the versatility of an ultra-wide angle field view with the benefits of a large fixed aperture, allowing users more control and flexibility in low light settings and providing smooth bokeh at all focal lengths, notes PetaPixel. Just as Nikon did with its Nikkor Z 28–75mm F2.8 lens, which appeared to be reworked and rebadged Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 Di III VXD lens, the new lens seems to be a 'Nikonized' version of Tamron’s 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens, adds DP Review.   Read the full Story >>
