Worried about generative AI? Consider what will come next. Mustafa Suleyman, a cofounder of Google DeepMind, an AI research lab, tells the MIT Technology Review that generative AI “is just a phase.” What next, he says, is interactive AI: “bots that can carry out tasks you set for them by calling on other software and other people to get stuff done.” Suleyman, who is currently a cofounder and CEO of AI startup Inflection AI. says interactive AI could be more dynamic and take actions on its own if given permission — in contrast to what he described as the "static" technology of today.   Read the full Story >>

Social News: Virginia, Other US States Back Montana in TikTok-Ban Court Filing

A group of 18 state attorneys general have backed Montana's effort to ban TikTok, reports Reuters. The state attorneys general led by Virginia and including Georgia, Alaska, Utah, Indiana, Nebraska, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky and South Dakota said legal challenges from TikTok and users should be rejected "because TikTok intentionally engages in deceptive business practices which induce individuals to share sensitive personal information that can be easily accessed by the Chinese Communist Party and because TikTok’s platform harms children in Montana.”   Read the full Story >>
