For the second time in a year, Dua Lipa is facing a lawsuit over posting a paparazzi picture of herself to her Instagram account. In a suit filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in California, New York-based photographer Robert Barbera claims that the singer committed copyright infringement by posting pics he took of her to the platform in July 2018. For people in the photo world, it might seem obvious why she’s being sued, but Billboard explains the copyright issues for its audience. In these cases, ”the law is fairly clear on what rights stars have when it comes to this corner of the intellectual property world.,” notes the publication. Read the full Story >>

Sony’s newly released Version 1.3 firmware update for its flagship Sony Alpha A1 mirrorless camera brings 8K 4:2:2 10-bit video recording capabilities from 8.6K oversampling, notes DIY Photography. While the Sony A1 already had 10-bit recording capabilities, it was only 4:2:0, so the new update offers a great deal more latitude in post for color correction and grading as well as for tools like chroma-keying. We’ve previously mentioned photographer Claudio Contreras Koob’s new book Flamingo, which focuses on the pink bird that, while iconic, is not all that well understood. CNN now talks with Koob, who was born and raised in Mexico City but spent a great deal of time as a youth observing flamingos with his father the port village of Chuburná, on Mexico’s Yucatan region. With the support of Mexico's Flamingo Conservation Program, run by Fundación Pedro y Elena Hernández since 2015, Koob spent several years collecting the images that make up his book.
