Art News: Pictet Group and Paris Photo Partner to Bring Sustainability Into Focus

Pictet Group has announced that it will becomes official partner of Paris Photo and bring Prix Pictet to the art fair in November with an exhibition at the Grand Palais dedicated to images of sustainability. Passings: Margaret Thomas, First Female Photographer at The Washington Post, Dies at 84

Margaret Thomas, who covered riots, international disputes, global summits, the Watergate hearings and presidential politics across four decades as the first female staff photographer at The Washington Post, died June 6 at her home in Hume, Virginia. She was 84, notes the newspaper. After joining The Post in 1966, Thomas encountered off-color jokes from colleagues and competitors before proving herself as an outstanding photojournalist. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award of the White House News Photographers Association in 2019.
