Art News: Home of Lee Miller to be Run as a Charity, Son Says

The English home of photographer and war correspondent Lee Miller and the surrealist artist Roland Penrose will transition to charitable status under the newly formed Farleys House and Gallery Trust. The move is intended to secure the property’s long-term future and preserve both the house and its remarkable contents for coming generations, notes Artlyst. Miller and Penrose moved into the farmhouse in East Sussex in 1949, following the end of World War II, and it subsequently became a private gathering place for 20th century art luminaries including Pablo Picasso , Max Ernst, Joan Miró, and Man Ray.   Read the full Story >>

Honor Roll: Astronomy Photographer of the Year Finalists

The Royal Observatory Greenwich has announced the shortlist for its annual ZWO Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition, drawn from nearly 4,000 entries from 769 amateur and professional photographers from 66  different countries. Finalist images range from “a snow-dusted mountain crowned with a glowing moon to an eye-like nebula and a partial solar eclipse shrouded in clouds,” notes the contest. Industry News: Samsung Likely to Post Huge Profits Due to AI-Fueled Memory Craze

The insatiable need for memory chips recently drove stock prices of memory chip makers such as Micron and Hynix through the roof. As the largest chip memory chipmaker in the world, Samsung will profit from the market imbalance too, notes Mashable, citing a report from Reuters. The company is about to post a huge profit increase estimate for its Q2 profit—an 18-fold increase compared to the same period last year. That would be 86 trillion won ($56.35 billion) in profit for the quarter starting in April and ending in June, up from just 4.7 trillion won ($3 billion) in Q2 2025.    Read the full Story >>

Trending: More Americans Are Using Chatbots. But Fewer Than a Quarter Use AI to Create and Edit Images
