Ravenna, Italy, is honoring one of its own, with style: The Museo d’Arte della Città di Ravenna has opened the Galleria Paolo Roversi, a permanent space dedicated to the celebrated fashion photographer in his hometown. Bringing together portraits, still lifes, archival materials, and landmark fashion imagery, the gallery offers a rare glimpse into Roversi’s “intimate visual world,” notes Hube. The gallery occupies several rooms on the museum’s top floor, echoing the atmosphere of Roversi’s Paris studio, Studio Luce, with cameras, Polaroids, photographs, and personal objects within carefully staged interiors. Photojournalists covering protests outside of the Delaney Hall immigrant detention facility in New Jersey have told amNew York that they were deliberately targeted and attacked by ICE agents. Clashes between protesters and ICE agents last week resulted in several arrests. Reuters photojournalist Ryan Murphy said that he was beaten with a baton and that ICE agents aimed for his camera. He believes the blow they struck broke a finger. Madison Swart, a frequent contributor to The New York Times, said she was struck her with a baton, knocking her to the ground. Read the full Story >>
