In Focus: Teen Who Went to Photograph 'No Kings' Rally Shot, Blinded by Homeland Security, Says Attorney

A University of Southern California freshman who went to photograph a recent “No Kings” protest in downtown Los Angeles was allegedly shot with a less-lethal projectile by a Department of Homeland Security agent and had to have one of his eyes removed, according to his attorney. Tucker Collins, 18, was shot in the eye with what appeared to be a projectile containing chemical irritants during the March 28 demonstration,  attorney, V. The Kyiv Independent is raising $63,500 for an electronic prosthetic knee for George Ivanchenko, a 25-year-old Ukrainian photojournalist who lost his leg in a targeted Russian drone attack while reporting on the front line. “George became a freelance photographer shortly after the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. He has since collaborated with the Associated Press, European Pressphoto Agency, the Kyiv Independent, Libération, Reporters, and other publications,” notes the newspaper.   Read the full Story >>
