The Massachusetts House of Representatives voted 129-25 last week to pass legislation that would ban all children under age 14 from using social media in the state. The bill, considered one of the most restrictive in the country, also calls for a statewide ban on cellphones in schools, which was passed by the Senate last summer. Under the new legislation, kids ages 14 and 15 would need parental consent to use social media. Photography was central to Andy Warhol’s philosophy and his obsession with self-representation, and by the early 1970s, the Polaroid had become his tool of choice and instrumental to his process. So notes New York’s Whitney Museum of American Art, which presents the exhibition “Andy Warhol Family Album” from Apr. 30 through Oct. 19. The color grading tool used by Hollywood filmmakers now supports still photos, notes Digital Camera World: Blackmagic Design has unveiled DaVinci Resolve 21, a software update that brings a long list of tools for video editors while also giving photographers access to cinematic color grading tools and hybrid creators a single program that can edit across both video and stills.
