Wildfires erupted in several places in Los Angeles this week, driven by extreme winds and dry conditions. The Palisades Fire grew quickly, tearing across hillsides and through the Los Angeles neighborhood of Pacific Palisades, burning many structures and sending thick plumes of smoke into the air. In its ongoing quest to discover new names and celebrate Ukrainian artists on the international fashion scene, Vogue Ukraine is launching a new initiative: the PhotoVogue Ukraine Futurespective Open Call. This project will be part of the global PhotoVogue program, which aims to connect talented photographers with opportunities worldwide. Ukrainian artists aged 18 and over, specializing in fashion and artistic photography, are invited to participate in the competition. The Vogue Ukraine team will select 12 of the most promising entries.

Fans of the legendary Los Angeles rock band The Doors are paying tribute to the former Morrison Hotel in downtown after the building was destroyed in a massive fire. The Morrison Hotel became popular after The Doors featured it on the cover of their 1970 album "Morrison Hotel." The cover photo, shot by Henry Diltz, featured singer Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore and guitarist Robby Krieger posing under the Morrison Hotel sign. “It's very sad because it's such a historic place. It's got such a history,” Diltx told ABC7 Los Angeles.
