YouTube has announced new features for its Shorts feature, “taking inspiration” from other platforms to bring TikTok-style split-screen collaborations and Reels-like remixing, notes DIY Photography. You can now live-stream in Shorts with the same Super Chat, Super Stickers, and channel memberships as traditional YouTube, adds Android Central. Meanwhile, Mashable notes that YouTube is testing a tool that automatically generates YouTube video summaries using AI.

Photographer and conservationist Srikanth Mannepuri is the winner of the Portfolio category in the 2023 Nature inFocus photography awards for his project on the disappearing mangrove forests of India’s coastal Andhra Pradesh state. The series captures “the magnitude and scale of the threats this unique ecosystem is facing,” notes the contest. Photographer Jo Anne McArthur wins the Conservation Focus award for images of the 2020 Australian bushfires. The winners of this year’s contest were chosen from 24,000 entires from 1,500 photographers.

A number of employees at Adobe are worried that the company’s AI-powered text-to-image generator Firefly will wipe out the jobs of the company’s customers, notes Insider. The situation has gotten to the point that some Adobe employees are experiencing an “existential crisis” and are calling it “depressing” in an internal Slack channel. While some haven’t been as negative about it as others, “the problem isn’t just as simple as deciding if it’s good for jobs or not. Adobe makes software for design professionals and if those people don’t have jobs, who buys Adobe software?” adds PetaPixel.
