The Dallas Area Rapid Transit
system (DART) has agreed to pay freelance photographer Avi Adelman $345,000 to settle a civil rights lawsuit in which Adelman alleged he was illegally arrested for taking photos of someone being
treated for an overdose, notes the Dallas News. In 2016, Adelman, 63, arrived at the scene of an overdose taking place on DART property. As he
photographed the victim being treated by paramedics, DART officer Stephanie Branch told him to stop. When Adelman wouldn’t leave, the officer arrested him for trespassing. Read the full Story >>
