Or it could have been any other blue sky since –one of those days when we look up, spot the plane on the horizon, and flinch. Newsweek’s haunting image, from illustrator Jesse Lenz, avoided the knee-jerk imagery we’ve come to expect when the topic is 9/11: Smoke, towers, holes in the sky. Instead, “Resilience” spoke to the mix of extant dread and rising hope that is our lot here in the after.
