Hasselblad’s latest financial results show just how much its mirrorless medium format cameras have changed the company’s fortunes, notes DIY Photography: Sales reached $325.9 million in 2025, up 20% from $271.7 million a year earlier, while operating profit rose 12% to $46.8 million. The figures, reported by Photo Rumors based on financial filings from Hasselblad’s operating subsidiaries, also show a business that is growing rapidly, even as its margins come under pressure. Associated Press photographer Slava 'Sal' Veder, best known for his picture of a U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel joyfully reuniting with his family after five years in a prisoner of war camp in Vietnam, died Aug. 22. He was 99, notes the AP. In March 1973 Veder was sent to Travis Air Force Base for the arrival of Lt. Col. Robert L. Stirm and other war prisoners returning from Vietnam. When he saw four of Stirm’s children running toward their father, he shot an image that came to be called “Burst of Joy,” which won the 1974 Pulitzer in feature photography. Read the full Story >>
