As we noted recently, Arri has been going through some changes recently. PetaPixel recently looked at the new Arri Alexa 35 Live Xtreme, the  company’s first camera launch in its new ownership era. The new camera — a specialized, broadcast-friendly version of the Arri Alexa 35 Xtreme launched last year — aims to transform sports coverage, noted PP. Honor Roll: Masayoshi Sukita to Receive Abbey Road Award

Abbey Road will present Japanese photographer Masayoshi Sukita with the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Abbey Road Music Photography Awards, notes Rolling Stone. Best known for his 44-year collaboration with David Bowie, Sukita took the iconic cover shot for Bowie’s 1977 Heroes album. He is also known for photographing Iggy Pop, Marc Bolan, Joe Strummer, and and David Sylvian. Trending: Viral Video of Photographer Arrested by ICE Sparks Backlash

A Ukrainian woman who has lived in the US for 16 years working as a photographer and barista was detained by immigration enforcement agents at San Francisco International Airport last Wednesday.  A video of her arrest by ICE, captured by a Richmond, Calif., city council member, has since gone viral and sparked a backlash, notes ABC7. The woman, Iryna Gorb, 38, is currently in detention at California City Detention Facility in Kern County, noted KQED. “They put hands on her, pulled her down to the ground and we see the agent get on top of her,” said Doria Robinson, who shot the video.   Read the full Story >>
