Meta is doubling down on its subscription offerings, notes TechCrunch: The social networking giant has announced it us now rolling out its consumer subscription plans globally for its flagship apps, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, and beginning tests of new subscriptions for businesses, creators, and Meta AI users. Consumers subscribing to Instagram Plus ($3.99/mo), Facebook Plus ($3.99/mo), or WhatsApp Plus ($2.99/mo) will gain access to extra features, like profile customization, super reactions, and story insights, among other things. For more than two decades, German photographer Markus Brunetti has pursued a project that feels equally archaeological and photographic. Through his ongoing “Facades” series, Brunetti documents Europe’s cathedrals, basilicas, monasteries, synagogues, and cloisters creating architectural studies that reveal the structural ornamentation and craftsmanship embedded within centuries-old facades, notes My Modern Met. The Museum of Modern Art has appointed Makeda Best as its new chief curator for photography, filling a position that had been vacant since the departure of Clément Chéroux in 2022. Best arrives from the Oakland Museum of California, where she has served as a deputy director of curatorial affairs since 2023, overseeing collection displays and special exhibitions. Her new role will begin in September. Best is the second chief curator to have been appointed by MoMA’s new director, Christophe Cherix, who took over from Glenn Lowry last year, notes Artnet.
