A pair of congressional Democrats on Monday unveiled a bill they said would shield the legal rights of people filming immigration officers and other federal agents conducting law enforcement activities and allow people to sue the government for infringing on those rights. The measure, proposed by Florida Representative Maxwell Frost and Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal, comes amid renewed scrutiny of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown following days of intense clashes between federal agents and protesters outside a detention facility in New Jersey, notes Courthouse News. Elfie Semotan, an Austrian fashion photographer known for her collaboration with designer Helmut Lang, died on Saturday, June 6 in Jennersdorf, a town in southeast Austria, notes Art News. She was 84. Semotan broke through in the mid-1970s when she produced a series of provocative ads for Austrian lingerie brand Palmers. It was her work with Lang, however, that really made her name: Her stripped-back portraiture mirrored the seeming simplicity of the designer’s look.
