Legal Brief: Meta Settles Major Social Media Addiction Lawsuit with School District

Meta has agreed to settle a major lawsuit with a school district in Kentucky over claims that its social networks are designed to be addictive, leading to harm in children. The settlement comes less than three weeks before the case was scheduled to go to trial in federal court in California. About 1,200 school districts from across the US came together to each sue Meta, TikTok, Snap and YouTube for allegedly fueling a mental health crisis in children. Hasselblad has disqualified a photograph submitted to the Hasselblad Masters 2026 competition for being AI generated. The image in question had been selected for the competition’s shortlist. Art News: Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Announces a Major Gift of Nearly 2000 Photographs

The Viginia Museum of Fine Arts has announced a donation of nearly 2,000 photographs from Joy of Giving Something Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to the photographic arts. The gift, notes Art News,  comprises works spanning the 19th century and the present day by more than 450 artists, and comes from the holdings of financier and former Dreyfus Corporation chief Howard Stein (1926–2011). Stern began collecting photography in the 1980s and started the Joy of Giving Something Foundation (JGS) with his wife Janet in 1998.   Read the full Story >>
