State of the Art: Anthropic Launches an AI Design Tool, Rocking Adobe

Anthropic Labs is taking on design incumbents like Adobe and Figma with a new product called Claude Design, which, according to the company, “lets you collaborate with Claude to create polished visual work like designs, prototypes, slides, one-pagers, and more.” Anthropic is billing the tool as a way for non-designers to mock up visuals, and a way for designers to quickly test out a range of initial prototypes, notes FastCompany. What We Learned This Week: FAA Scraps Civil and Criminal Penalties for Flying Drones Near ICE Vehicles

The Federal Aviation Administration has rescinded a temporary flight restriction (TFR) that created a no-fly zone within 3,000 feet of Department of Homeland Security facilities and mobile assets. A 2025 TFR restricted the presence of drones around Department of Energy and Pentagon assets, but the FAA added ICE and CBP to the list of restricted agencies in January as ICE began operations in Minneapolis. …   Read the full Story >>

Photographer Carol Guzy’s image “Separated by ICE,” a shot of a family being a family being separated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents following an immigration court hearing in New York City in August, has been named the World Press Photo of the Year 2026. "This image shows the inconsolable grief of children losing their father in a place built for justice. It is a stark and necessary record of family separation following the U.S. reform policies,” noted World Press Photo Executive Director Joumana El Zein Khoury.
