Spotlight: She's On a Quest to Photograph Native Bees

“Saving the bees means saving their entire ecosystems,” photographer Krystie Hickman tells Associated Press. Hickman is on a quest to document hundreds of species of native bees, which are under threat from climate change and habitat loss, some of it caused by the more recognizable and agriculturally valued honey bee — an invasive species. Art News: Trevor Paglen Thinks Spielberg Trailer Looks Very Familiar

On Super Bowl Sunday, Universal Pictures debuted the first full-length trailer for Disclosure Day, Steven Spielberg’s latest extraterrestrial epic. Scattered throughout the trailer are repeated references to cardinals, presented as a harbinger of alien life. Photographer Trevor Paglen later took to Instagram to note the visual link between his 2024 and 2025 shows at Altman Siegel and Pace galleries—both titled “Cardinals” and exploring the history and present of UFO photography.   Read the full Story >>
