Media Watch: Photographer Awarded Compensation from News Site Whose Owners Can't Be Found

A London-based photographer has successfully sued a local news website for using his images without permission, only to find that the outlet’s owners are impossible to track down, notes Press Gazette. Richard Southall, a professional photographer and member of the Association of Photographers and the Royal Society of the Arts, filed the lawsuit against The London Post and its operators in September 2025, adds DIY Photography. Spotlight: Photographer Recreates Famous 'ET' Moon Image

A photographer is "over the Moon" after recreating an iconic scene from the movie ET in a photo that has been almost two years in the making, notes the BBC. Michael Meighan and friend Nathan Edwards have tried repeatedly to recreate the scene from the 1982 film, when Elliott's BMX - with ET riding in the basket "flies" past the Moon.
