So far 2025 has proved to be the year of camera comebacks, with point-and-shoot compacts flying off shelves faster than stores can restock them. But, notes PetaPixel, there could be another resurgence set to occur: camcorders. While camcorders don’t get the same press coverage as mirrorless cameras, new models are still being released: Panasonic has just released four new models, topping out with the flagship AG-CX20, while Canon also offers several camcorder options. The PhotoVogue Festival, which bills itself as “the first conscious fashion photography festival that focuses on the common ground between ethics and aesthetics,” returns for its ninth edition from March 6 to 9 at BASE Milano, Italy. This year’s festival will examine and celebrate the interconnectedness of humans, animals, and ecosystems. The event includes exhibitions, panels, presentations, and digital showcases, each of which aims to offer a platform “for dialog and reflection,” note the organizers.

The White House barred a credentialed Associated Press photographer and reporter from boarding Air Force One on Friday for a weekend trip with Donald Trump, citing the news agency’s stance on how to refer to the Gulf of Mexico. AP was also blocked from covering events at the White House because the news service hasn’t changed its stylebook entry for the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, per the Trump administration’s edict, notes AP. The White House Correspondents Association said the action against the AP “is a textbook violation" of the First Amendment, adds CNN. The National Press Photographers Association has also condemned the AP ban.
