American content creators on TikTok are asking followers to subscribe to their channels on rival platforms like Instagram and YouTube after a federal appeals court ruled that the social media app could be banned  if it is not sold to a U.S.-based company by Jan. 19. On the app, viewers and content creators voiced concerns and confusion and said they were prepared for the worst, notes Reuters. "I don't think there's longevity on this app in the United States,” noted Chris Burkett, a content creator on TikTok with 1.3 million people following his men's lifestyle videos.   Read the full Story >>

Books: A Fashion Photographer Returns to His Guatemalan Roots

After a decade as a fashion photographer in New York, Juan Brenner returned to his homeland, Guatemala, where he now lives and works as a creative director in Guatemala City. Brenner also traveled to the Guatemalan Highlands and began documenting the indigenous peoples of the area, their generationally observed traditions, and the rich geography of the landscape. Tech News: Tamron Unveils a 11-20mm f/2.8 Lens for Canon RF

Tamron already has a 11-20mm f/2.8 lens available for Sony E-mount and Fujifilm X-mount cameras; now the company is making it for Canon RF mount. The new 11-20mm f/2.8 Di III-A RXD is now available for $659. When attached to a Canon APS-C body, it should make for a relatively small kit. It weighs 340g (12 oz) and is 84mm (3.3") long, notes DP Review. Canon calls the lens a fast-aperture zoom lens covering a focal length range from ultra-wide-angle 11mm to 20mm that pairs well with a fast f/2.8 aperture through that range.   Read the full Story >>
