While visiting Copenhagen, Benj Haisch had a bag filled with $25,000 worth of photography gear stolen from a bike. The bag contained a Leica 50mm Summilux lens and various other accessories--and a Sony a9 III with an Apple AirTag attached. Members of Donald Trump’s campaign team clashed with an official at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday over the presence of a photographer in a section of the cemetery where American troops who were killed in recent wars are buried. The cemetery released a statement saying that federal law prohibits political campaigning or “election-related” activities within Army cemeteries, including by photographers, notes The New York Times. Steven Cheung, a Trump campaign spokesman, said in a statement that the cemetery official was “clearly suffering from a mental health episode” at the time of the confrontation.   Read the full Story >>

Rising wedding costs have caused some couples to look for ways to save money, but Brides magazine reports that one couple took the idea to another level by emailing their wedding photographer with a scheme to defraud one of their employers. “I work in the events department at [redacted name]. I’m wondering if I could hire you to photograph some events there, and you could overcharge them and, whatever you overcharge you could take off our remaining balance. Dept of Ideas: This Utah Photographer Launched His Own Remote Observatory

Craig Stocks is a fine-art photographer who loves capturing landscapes and the dazzling night sky he sees from his home in southern Utah. (His shots have earned him multiple NASA “Picture of the Day” honors.)
