Art history, visual and performing Arts, and graphic design majors nationwide have the bleakest employment prospects across all college majors in the United States, according to data analyzed by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for the first quarter of 2024. The NYFED also revealed that more than half of art history and arts majors are “underemployed,” meaning that they are working in fields that don’t require a college degree, notes ARTnews. The data is detailed in an online interactive chart that compares unemployment and underemployment rates.

The Senate Armed Services Committee has released its version of the National Defense Authorization Act, which notably omits the demand to ban new DJI drones from entering the US market. The House passed its version of the bill last in June with provisions to stop the Federal Communications Commission from issuing new licenses to DJI over national security concerns. The Senate’s decision to exclude the ban reflects a more cautious approach toward the issue: The Chinese company’s drones are widely used across various sectors — including agriculture, infrastructure, and public safety — and a sudden prohibition could impede work in critical areas, notes DroneDJ.
