Photofairs, the contemporary art fair focused on photography, digital art, and new media, has announced the launch of an edition in Hong Kong set for March 2025. The move comes after Photofairs cancelled a New York City event planned for this year, citing market conditions and consultations with art galleries and partners, notes Art News. “Our priority is mounting a dynamic and high-quality event, so we feel it is best to hold the fair once market conditions improve,” a Photofairs spokesperson told ARTnews in June.

As the new presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris has become the target of deepfake videos going viral on TikTik and Elon Musk’s X, notes Mashable. One shows a fake speech that Harris never delivered—the video has been edited and the audio has been replaced with what appears to be an AI-generated clone voice. After Media Matters for America released a report concerning the deepfake, TikTok removed the posts as well as the fake audio from the platform.

Adobe has widely released a new a potentially contentious feature: text-to-image generation for Photoshop. The feature, first teased in April, is powered by Adobe’s Firefly Image 3 generative AI model. How good is it? “The usual AI art caveats apply…particularly with weird details if you look closely. But it certainly created useable results and you have the benefit of already being inside Photoshop to fix any errors,” notes Engadget. Adobe recently stated it has a "commitment to creator friendly AI," which means never training its AI models on customer content, adds Engadget.
