As the world marks the 74th anniversary of the start of the Korean War, NPR reports on an unassuming village that is home to resettled North Korean refugees who fled southward when hostilities began. Inhabited by approximately a dozen displaced people, Abai Village occupies a small expanse of land within the coastal city of Sokcho. Today, the generation that once knew and experienced a unified Korea is gradually transitioning into a historical chapter of the country, notes Hannah Yoon, who photographed the village recently.

Panasonic has unveiled the Lumix DC-FZ80D, an updated version of its 60x superzoom from 2017, reports DP Review. The 'D' variants get a USB-C socket (with charging) to bring them into line with European regulations, while the panels in both the rear screen and viewfinder get upgrades: The rear screen moves from 1.04M dots to 1.84M, meaning a resolution jump from 720 x 480px to 960 x 640px. Price: $480. Although superzoom cameras no longer receive the attention they once did, they are “fantastic options for amateurs and enthusiasts who enjoy birding and other wildlife pursuits,” adds PetaPixel.
