The work of David Armstrong, the iconic New York-based fashion photographer of the early 2000s who died in 2014, is celebrated in the latest issue of MATTE Magazine. This marks the first time the images have been seen in print since Armstrong’s death at age 60, notes Interview. This work was selected by co-editors Vince Aletti and Matthew Leifheit, “[W]hen you look at the pictures in the magazine, they don’t look like fashion. They just look like David’s pictures,” says Lisa Love, co-executor of Armstrong’s estate.

It didn’t take long to turn an iconic photo into merch: ABC News reports that a company owned by Donald Trump is now selling $299 sneakers showing an image of the former president with streaks of blood on his cheek and pumping his fist in the air after he was the target of an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. The white “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT High-Tops” are being sold on a website run by CIC Ventures LLC, a company that Trump reported owning in his 2023 financial disclosure. The particular frame used on the sneaker was taken by Anna Moneymaker of Getty Images, adds PetaPixel.
