A new study by Flickr has revealed the most popular cameras used by photographers on the site, and taking the top spot worldwide with over 13 million tags on Flickr, is the iPhone 11, first introduced four years ago. Within the US, notes Flickr, the most popular camera is the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Among actual cameras, notes Digital Camera World, the Canon 5D Mark IV, released in 2016, is still the world’s most popular camera with over 11.7 million tags on Flickr.   Read the full Story >>

According to Trans Legislation Tracker, 22 anti-trans bills were introduced in Tennessee during the current legislative session, notes Nashville-based photographer Emily April Allen at The Washington Post, which features her life-affirming portraits of trans people in the Nashville area. “Amid uncertainty, political polarization and debate over trans lives — beautiful, human, whole, full lives — the trans community offers hope, connection and survival. Tech News: Midjourney Update Brings 'Camera-Like' Feature

AI image generator Midjourney’s newly unveiled version 5.2 includes a new "zoom out" feature that allows users to maintain a central synthesized image while automatically building out a larger scene around it. The feature, notes Ars Technica,  simulates zooming out with a camera lens. Users can choose between two options: “Zoom Out 1.5x” and “Zoom Out 2x.”  There’s also a “Make Square” option that turns a non-square image into a square one and a “Custom Zoom” button allowing users to alter the text prompts and change the aspect ratio, notes DIY Photography.   Read the full Story >>

Media Watch: Meta Says No to the News

Meta thinks no news is good news -- at least it's threatening to abandon news on its platforms in a series of showdowns with government entities around the world. Recently, the Canadian Parliament passed a law requiring technology companies to pay domestic news outlets for linking to their articles.
