State of the Art: Adobe Stock Creators Are Unhappy with the Company's AI Tool

Adobe’s stock soared after a strong earnings report last week — where executives touted the success of its “commercially safe” AI image-generation platform Adobe Firefly. But, notes VentureBeat, a vocal group of contributors to Adobe Stock are not so happy. They say Adobe trained Firefly on their stock images without express notification or consent. Unless you switch to a chronological timeline on Facebook, the things you see could seem arbitrary at times. But now, notes Engadget, Meta is pulling back the curtain to reveal how artificial intelligence decides what appears on your Facebook and Instagram feeds. The move, notes Nick Clegg, Meta’s President of Global Affairs, “is part of a wider ethos of openness, transparency, and accountability.” Meta’s AI systems, Clegg says, “predict how valuable a piece of content might be to you, so we can show it to you sooner.”   Read the full Story >>
