As we’ve noted previously, the BeReal photo-sharing app has grown in popularity as people look for alternatives to Instagram. But now, notes NY Breaking, the anti-virus company Avast is claiming that the app owns the rights to users’ photos for 30 years. Avast’s global head of security, Jeff Williams, pored over the BeReal’s terms of service before issuing a report, explains DIY Photography. He discusses several potential dangers of BeReal for its users, saying “there’s a very high risk for young people sharing without the thought of future consequences.”
