Books: Pete Souza's West Wing, Without Obama

On Barack Obama’s last day as president, his official White House photographer, Pete Souza, took a photograph of White House aides rifling through the drawers of the Resolute Desk to make sure the departing chief executive had left nothing behind, thereby capturing what The New York Times calls “one of the most complicated presidential transitions in American history.” The image is featured in Souza’s new book The West Wing and Beyond: What I Saw Inside the Presidency. Trending: NFT Trading Volumes Collapse 97% From January Peak

As we noted recently, photography is a big part of the NFT art space. On the other hand, Bloomberg reports that trading volumes in nonfungible tokens — digital art and collectibles recorded on blockchains — have tumbled 97 percent from a record high in January. They slid to just $466 million in September from $17 billion at the start of 2022.
