Social News: Instagram Is Getting Even More Ads

Are you one of the growing number of creators who are tired of ads popping up in your Facebook or Instagram reels, on your pages news feed and in the apps’ shopping sections? (See item 1.) If so, you’re not in luck: Meta is introducing new ways to offer advertisers your eyeballs while using its apps, notes Gizmodo. In a recently blog post, the company announced that it is  testing new ways for companies to advertise with its short-form video format Reels. In initial tests, four-to-10-second skippable video ads play after a Reel ends. At Instagram, Meta is increasing the number of ads in the Explore tab.   Read the full Story >>

These sights were captured in some of the winning images of the 2022 Nature Conservancy Photo Contest. The top prize this year, chosen from some 100,000 entires, goes to Li Ping, a photographer based in China, for a drone’s eye view of an isolated highway in Tibet, bordered on each side by gullies extending outward in the shape of a tree.   Read the full Story >>
