The FBI has arrested a gallery owner who is accused of cheating clients out of more than 100 rare fine art photographs, including prints by photographer Ansel Adams, worth an estimated $1.6 million, notes PetaPixel. Wendy Halsted Beard, who owned the Wendy Halsted Gallery in Birmingham, Michigan, is accused of selling pictures without the owner’s knowledge, pocketing the cash, or failing to return unsold works. She also passed off cheap copies of Adams’ prints she bought from the photographer’s gift shop as original, signed photographs.

As we were saying, film is in: PetaPixel reports that, with soaring demand for analog products, Eastman Kodak is hiring film technicians. The company says its tactic of being the “last color film manufacturer standing” has paid off as interest in analog photography continues to surge. “Consumer demand, particularly for 35mm film, has exploded over the last few years,” says Nagraj Bokinkere, vice president of film manufacturing at Kodak. “Our retailers are constantly telling us they can’t keep these films on the shelves and they want more.”

Film is in! Leica is reissuing its classic M6 rangefinder, with a price tag of around €4,800 (about $4,650), notes Leica Rumors. Leica didn’t really stop making film cameras, and you can still buy new ones today. The Leica MP, for example, a fully mechanical version of the Leica M7, can be yours for $5,695. But the M6 is one that’s thought of quite fondly amongst Leica shooters,” adds DIY Photography. If you want one of the brand new M6s, you’ll have to be quick, because the reissue is in an edition of 500.
