All the cool kids are leaving Instagram, declared DIY Photography in a recent look at alternative sites. As we noted recently, photo-sharing platform BeReal has been making wave recently as an “anti-Instagram.” Now, notes DIYP, the app is working on an updated feature that will let you see posts by friends of friends. Currently, BeReal has some very simple privacy controls and only two options for sharing photos. Wildlife Photographer of the Year Tuesday September 13, 2022
The internet and social media love wildlife, and sites from all over the world are marveling at the 14 “highly commended” entries released by the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, which comes from the Natural History Museum in London. This year’s contest brought entries from photographers from 93 countries. Winners will be announced in Oct. Among the images recently released: Finnish photographer Tiina Törmänen's photo “Underworld Wonderland,” which was shot in Finland’s Honkalampi lake, previously spotlighted by PPD. See also: CNN. A federal judge has granted a preliminary injunction against a law that would have limited the right to record police in Arizona, blocking the law from going into effect, notes the National Press Photographers Association. The law, which was slated to take effect on Sept. 24, would ban people from photographing and filming police officers within 8 feet. U.S. District Court Judge John Tuchi’s ruled determined that media groups opposing the law "are likely to succeed on the merits" because it represents a content-based restriction on speech that fails strict scrutiny," reports the Arizona Republic.
