From Pro Photo Daily: How We Bring You News, Trends, Art and Opinion, Five Times a Week, With Your Vital Support
Art can be timeless.
But the art of photography, the technology of photography, and the business of photography are in constant change.
When we launched Pro Photo Daily ten years ago, for instance, Instagram was a relatively new thing that promised to upend the entire photography industry. Today the app that gave smartphone users a way to edit and share their images has fulfilled that promise, even as its users complain that it is drifting away from its roots to compete with video services like TikTok.
PPD has covered the ongoing evolution of social media as well as the state of the art in camera gear, lenses, and software for both photographers and filmmakers. We’ve looked at important legal cases that have shaped copyright law, spotlighted photojournalists covering conflict around the globe, explored how the photo industry and photographers have responded to the COVID pandemic, told you about new trends in book publishing and covered award-winning work over the past decade.
PPD has been a resource since 2012
Our goal from the beginning was to make this newsletter a vital and convenient resource that keeps you up to speed with new developments and new ideas in photography.
Delivered to your inbox.
Five days a week.
We scour the internet, from blogs to and industry publications to newspapers and magazines from around the world, to aggregate a wide range of news, trends and opinions shaping the photo industry. We direct you to resources, organizations and grant programs that can help you develop as a photographer and as a business person. We also highlight projects from the readers who are part of the PPD community. We hope you’ll tell us about what you’re doing, and let us spread the word.
