Tech News: iPhone 14 Pro Users Report Camera Issues When Using Third-Party Apps

Purchasers of the new iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are experiencing a strange issue, notes The Verge: As demonstrated in videos and complaints posted across the web, some users noticed that their camera shakes and even makes a grinding noise when opening the camera on third-party apps including Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok. So far, it doesn’t look like the bug affects the iPhone’s Camera app, which might mean the issue is related to the third-party app software rather than Apple’s hardware.   Read the full Story >>

Exhibition: Reexamining David LaChapelle's Pop Genius

David LaChapelle built a career capturing pop culture with a vibrancy few photographers have equalled. He eventually fled the limelight of celebrity he once helped flame, retreating to Hawaii. But, he told The Guardian recently, “when I have dreams here now in Maui, I’m always back in New York.”  Happily, LaChapelle’s work, spanning from 1984 to 2022, is on display in New York at Fotografiska through Jan. 8, 2023, in the monumental retrospective "David LaChapelle: Make Believe." Art News: MoMA Photo Curator Departs for French Foundation After 2 Years

After two years as the chief curator of photography at the Museum of Modern Art, Clément Chéroux will return to his native France to direct Paris’s Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation, reports The New York Times. During his stint in New York, MoMA acquired works by Deana Lawson, Sara VanDerBeek and other new talents, adds The Times. The Museum also featured two significant exhibitions, both curated by Chéroux’s colleague Roxana Marcoci: a retrospective of German artist Wolfgang Tillmans and a showcase of women photographers, both now on view.   Read the full Story >>
