Most social media sites allow you to upload images using their own set of parameters to resize and compress uploaded images to save file space and bandwidth. If you’re happy with how your images are appearing when you post them, great. But you might try using the resizing guide at PetaPixel to prep your images. It could be that they end up looking better.

The British Journal of Photography is spotlighting its annual Ones to Watch list of emerging image makers, including Zhong Lin, who is known as a fashion photographer but resists being bound to the genre. Born in Malaysia to an English-educated father and Chinese-educated mother, Zhong was raised on Hollywood movies, Japanese manga, Indian music, and Malaysian food—diverse cultures that, she says, “inspire my work deeply.” Her striking images have been seen in GQ China, Marie Claire, i-D and Vogue Italia. Conflict photographer Lynsey Addario is among the recipients of the International Women's Media Foundation Courage in Journalism Awards for 2022. Addario, currently working for The New York Times, has most recently been documenting the war in Ukraine. Also recognized are Victoria Roshchyna, a freelance reporter from Ukraine; Cerise Castle, an American investigative journalist; and Xueqin (Sophia) Huang, a Chinese journalist imprisoned since September 2021 for her reporting on injustice and corruption.
