Demand for the Panasonic Lumix GH6 is apparently higher than expected—the company has announced their may be shipping delays for pre-orders. “We have received reservations that greatly exceeded our expectations, so some customers who have already made reservations may not get the camera delivered on the day of the release,” the company said. When the GH6 was announced, Panasonic said that it would be available in stores in “mid-March,” but now the company says shipping will start on March 25. See DIY Photography. Read the full Story >>

Not long after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began, Jérôme Sessini, a French photographer on assignment for The New Yorker, arrived in Irpin, a small town of sixty thousand people about a half hour’s drive west of the capital, Kyiv. Sessini, who is based in Paris and has covered conflicts around the world for the Magnum photo agency, was traveling with three companions: a Ukrainian driver and two photographers. According to a new report, despite making up nearly half of the photography workforce, women are dramatically underpaid and underrepresented compared to their male counterparts, notes PetaPixel. In line with the upcoming International Women’s Day, a creative content marketing agency conducted research that looked at the disproportionate representation of women photographers in the industry — from the lack of brand ambassadorships to fewer features on major camera brand social media profiles.
