Last year, the American Society of Media Photographers launched the ASMP Academy. Now, reports PetaPixel, the organization has announced that it is partnering with Sony to grow into an even more comprehensive resource for photographers. The platform will be known as the ASMP Academy Powered by Sony. James Datri, ASMP CEO, says that the platform will offer access to one-on-one assistance to address business issues and questions either via Zoom or phone. For the past three weeks, Marcus Yam has been capturing harrowing images of the war in Ukraine, as he pulls long hours in the face of unpredictable and deadly attacks, notes NRP. Yam, a photojournalist and foreign correspondent for The Los Angeles Times, is covering the conflict in the capital of Kyiv. The biggest challenge for photojournalists in the region, he says, are the military bombardments. An email sent by Nikon to its customers indicates that prices of its cameras and lenses will be increasing across northern Europe, notes DIY Photography. (This excludes sports optics and accessories, but also the Nikon Z9, which will keep its current price, at least for now, adds DIYP.) “Following a period of severe disruption in global supply chains, we have experienced continued cost increases to component parts and logistic charges,” Nikon writes. “Whilst we have explored all options to absorb these costs, to maintain the production in these lines moving forward, we are regrettably having to increase prices.” Read the full Story >>
