Growing up in Mississippi, Justin Hardiman remembers going to his grandmother's house and watching his family members ride horses. But it wasn't until he was 15 that his father took him to his first Black rodeo. Today, at age 32, he not only rides at rodeos put on by his uncle but also documents them as part of his work as a Mississippi-based photographer, notes NPR. “[I]t's a big part of Mississippi culture and a big part of my childhood and my adulthood now. Instagram is bringing a change to Stories: Instead of all reactions automatically appearing in the recipient’s inbox, users can now like a Story without sending a message and all likes can only be visible to the Story owner, notes PetaPixel. Social media erupted in displeasure after Associated Press tweeted it would be selling an NFT of a short video by photojournalist Felipe Dana featuring migrants crowded together on a raft in the Mediterranean Sea. Criticized for trying to profit from human misery, the news agency later cancelled the sale of Dana’s video, notes Art News. “This was a poor choice of imagery for an NFT,” said an AP spokesman. AP announced early in 2022 that it would begin selling NFTs of photography and other work to support the work of its journalists.
