Illustrators Coast to Coast

By Peggy Roalf   Monday December 3, 2007

If it's December, it must be time to fly south for North America's hottest trade fair, recently dubbed "Artmageddon." During the run of Art Basel Miami Beach, a growing number of satellite art fairs present works of art starting in the three-figure range, adding a slice of sanity to the proceedings. Quite a few galleries regularly featured in Coast to Coast are represented this year - a nice way to make you feel perfectly at home.

But in case you crave cold weather, by all means, come to New York instead. This weekend, the folks who bring you Comic-Con are rolling out the first installment of the New York Anime Festival. Featured guests include artists, animators, voice actors, production designers, directors, and more. Young devotees, dressed as their favorite anime characters are sure to be there en masse. And Elena Dorfman will be on hand making polaroids of the cosplay dressers and signing her book, Fandomania. Please check links for details.
