Illustrators Coast to Coast
November brings a host of group shows that offer a broad perspective on the tremendously varied world of illustration. In New York City, the Jewish Museum has just opened a retrospective comprised of over 200 pieces by William Steig, one of the most influential and prolific artists of the 20th century. In Stockbridge, MA, the Norman Rockwell Museum opens an exhibit this weekend on graphic novels, which covers the genre from its early incarnations through the present. In Eau Claire, WI, the University of Wisconsin's Foster Gallery opens an exhibition this Thursday of work by artists who have been featured in Juxtapose magazine. And the annual Blab! Show continues through the weekend, in St. Louis. Please check links for details.
