The Armory Show at the Javiatz Center, September 8-11

A cornerstone of New York’s cultural landscape since its founding in 1994, The Armory Show brings the world’s leading international contemporary and modern art galleries to New York each year. With over 240 galleries from 30 countries, the 2022 edition features solo exhibitions of international artists at 16 galleries; FOCUS: Landscape Undone, curated by Carla Acevedo-Yates,  presenting artists that examine the intersectionality of issues surrounding the environment, focusing on personal and political climates as they interact with race, gender, and power. 

This year The Armory Show has partnered with Cristea Roberts Gallery to show a special presentation of Paula Rego's Abortion Etchings. The exhibit will be on view in the Crystal Palace of the Javits Center. The 2022 edition of  Platform, curated by Tobias Ostrander, the Estrellita B. Art on Paper, September 8-11

Art on Paper returns to downtown Manhattan for its highly anticipated eighth edition, with 95 galleries featuring top modern and contemporary paper-based art. The fair’s medium-specific focus continues to bring about unique and powerful projects — visual, experiential moments that have established Art on Paper as a must-visit destination for collectors, curators, and art lovers.

This just in from Steven Kasher: We will exhibit over sixty works by nine female artists whose work is rooted in comics and graphic novels. They have published best-selling graphic novels, won top awards, had museum shows, made movies, been published in top journals, become Instagram stars. But many of these artists are being brought to the art world here for the first time. Virtuosos of their artform, they speak from their hearts with bravery and vulnerability. Clio Art Fair, September 8-11

Independent Art Fair, September 8-11

Hailed as “a utopian new model for art fairs with its emphasis on gallery co-operation and transparency” [Financial Times], Independent brings together more than 70 international artists, 22 solo and duo artist presentations and special projects commissioned especially for this Fall 2022 edition. By supporting a focused range of established, innovative and emerging artiats as well as outsider art and design from 1900 to the present, Independent aims to present a true reflection of the fabric of the global art community.

September 5-11: 11 Women of Spirit | Salon Zürcher 2022

The 27th Edition of Salon Zürcher presents a distinguished group of 11 women artists. Femmes d’esprit (Women of Spirit) was an 18th-century French term that referred to independently-minded female painters, writers, and intellectuals, routinely under-recognized by their male contemporaries and the public. In keeping with the spirit of artistic salons, 11 Women of Spirit involves the presence of the 11 participating artists. At Salon Zurcher, visitors have the rare chance to speak directly with the artists.
