"I thought he was going to take out his phone to write things down. Instead, he pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed me, and I looked down and I saw I was bleeding.” So says photographer Donald Halsing, recounting the moment he stabbed in an alleged unprovoked attack while working at a wedding in Raymond, Maine, on May 23. Fortunately, the bride and several bridesmaids, all nurses, rushed to his aid. The suspect, 26-year-old Andrew Manderson, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, notes People magazine. Ravenna, Italy, is honoring one of its own, with style: The Museo d’Arte della Città di Ravenna has opened the Galleria Paolo Roversi, a permanent space dedicated to the celebrated fashion photographer in his hometown. Bringing together portraits, still lifes, archival materials, and landmark fashion imagery, the gallery offers a rare glimpse into Roversi’s “intimate visual world,” notes Hube. The gallery occupies several rooms on the museum’s top floor, echoing the atmosphere of Roversi’s Paris studio, Studio Luce, with cameras, Polaroids, photographs, and personal objects within carefully staged interiors.
