Media Watch: X Will Penalize Creators Who Share AI-Generated War Videos Without Disclosure

X says it will temporarily bar creators from monetizing their content through its Creator Revenue Sharing program if they share AI-generated videos of an armed conflict without clearly disclosing that it was made with AI. The move comes after the U.S. and Israel launched strikes against Iran, sparking a chain of violent reactions, notes Adweek. Wired reported that X has been filled with disinformation since the United States and Israel first started bombing Iran.  “During times of war, it is critical that people have access to authentic information on the ground,” said X head of product Nikita Bier.   Read the full Story >>

State of the Art: The Supreme Court Won't Reconsider Copyright Case on AI Art

The US Supreme Court said on Monday that it will not hear a case over whether art by artificial intelligence can receive copyright protection, all but ending the years-long quest by a computer scientist have his AI-created art receive federal copyright protection. At least ten school districts across four states have either paused or canceled contracts with Lifetouch — the largest school photography company in the nation — after links between convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and the former CEO of the company’s ownership group were discovered. These links were based on over 8,000 mentions of Leon Black, CEO of private equity company Apollo Global Management in the Epstein files, notes USC Annenberg Media. Art News: Leica Galleries's 50-Year Mission to Champion Photography
