North Carolina's attorney general is suing a Raleigh-based photography company that's made headlines in recent months for defrauding newlywed and engaged couples out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. An investigation led by Attorney General Jeff Jackson's office found that Holly Christina Photography failed to provide clients with previously agreed-upon services, sometimes not fulfilling any work at all. North Carolina’s Department of Justice says it has received 166 complaints from clients of the photography company who say they’ve lost over $750,000 collectively, notes WRAL. Read the full Story >>

Nick Ut, who for more than a half-century was credited with taking the Pulitzer Prize-winning “Napalm Girl” photograph during the Vietnam War, has filed a criminal defamation lawsuit in France against Netflix and the makers of a documentary that accuses him of being a fraud. Ut said in court documents that the film, The Stringer, which Netflix released last year, had damaged his reputation and brought shame upon him. The film claims that a freelancer named Nguyen Thanh Nghe actually took the 1972 photo, notes The New York Times. Read the full Story >>

Leica and Xiaomi have officially introduced the Leica Leitzphone, bridging the gap between classic photography and mobile imaging. Visually, notes Hypebeast, the smartphone adheres to a minimalist design language, utilizing a black fiberglass rear panel bordered by a knurled metal frame and finished with the iconic Leica red dot. Inside, there’s a big 1-inch camera sensor. Essentially, though, the Leica Leitzphone shares the same specs the Xiaomi’s 17 Ultra, “just with different messaging,” adds Engadget.
