Passings: David Friedman, Motorsports Photographer Who Worked with Carroll Shelby, Dies at 87

Dave Friedman, who captured the greatest years of sports-car racing in America and Europe during the golden age of the sport as part of the Shelby American car company, died in late February, reports the Henry Ford Museum. He was 87, adds Autoweek. Friedman was the staff photographer at Shelby American from 1962 to 1965 and continued to shoot for legendary car designer Carroll Shelby and the Ford Motor Company in the years after, covering racing action at tracks all across his native Southern California, as well as elsewhere in America and Europe.   Read the full Story >>

Industry News: Adobe to Pay $150 Million Settlement in Subscription Cancellation Lawsuit

The US Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Adobe in June 2024, alleging that the company hid fees and made it excessively challenging for its customers to cancel subscriptions. Now, notes PetaPixel, Adobe and the DOJ have settled the lawsuit: Per the settlement, Adobe will pay the DOJ $75 million and provide affected customers with $75 million worth of free services. Adobe maintains it did nothing wrong. “For years, Adobe has harmed consumers by enrolling them in its default, most lucrative subscription plan without clearly disclosing important plan terms,” the DOJ wrote in its lawsuit filing in 2024.   Read the full Story >>

In Focus: Greece Unveils Photos Documenting Nazi Atrocity

Greece’s Culture Ministry has unveiled a newly acquired archive of World War II photographs, including rare images documenting the execution of 200 Greek communist prisoners by Nazi forces in Athens in 1944.  Known as the Heuer Collection, the archive includes 262 photographs, 13 of which are linked to the notorious execution. They were taken by Hermann Heuer, a German Wehrmacht soldier stationed in Greece.
