Tech Notes: The Pixboom Spark is a 4.6K Cinema Camera with 1,000 FPS Global Shutter

Pixboom’s newly released compact video camera, called the Spark, touts what PetaPixel calls “some seriously impressive specifications at an even more impressive price.” Pixboom says the camera is capable of shooting 4K resolution at up to 1,000 frames per second, even in low light, via its global shutter. The camera also offers unlimited recording times through a system that allows filmmakers to record directly to storage and swap drives quickly and easily. Art News: Control of Warhol Photographer's Estate Is Under Dispute in New York Court

At a courthouse in Kingston, New York, a jury trial is underway to determine who will control the estate of Billy Name, an artist who lived with Andy Warhol in the 1960s and was the Factory’s in-house photographer during that time. Name (born William George Linich) documented the art party scene at Warhol’s midtown Manhattan home and studio and famously covered Warhol’s loft in tin foil and silver paint, dubbing it the Silver Factory.
