YouTube is introducing a slew of AI-powered tools aimed at lightening creators’ workloads: During its annual Made On YouTube event, the video platform presented a new AI “creative partner” called Ask Studio, which can give personalized summaries of things like how a video is performing or what commenters are saying. In Focus: Documentary Looks at Deaf War Photographer in Ukraine

Filmmaker Olivier. Sarbil’s documentary ed is a war documentary unlike any other, notes Indiewire. The title subject is a deaf Ukrainian man who wants to enlist in his country’s armed forces in 2022 when Russia launches its full-scale invasion. Instead, he became a war photographer documenting Ukraine‘s fight for survival.  It’s a startling war film as character study, and builds off Sarbil’s previous work directing war documentaries for Frontline, including 2017’s Mosul, notes IW, which features a trailer.   Read the full Story >>

Tech News: The Fujifilm X-T30 II Is Not Discontinued

Despite inaccurate reports and mislabeled product listings claiming otherwise, the Fujifilm X-T30 II is not discontinued.  B&H Photo temporarily listed the camera as discontinued, prompting some reports that the camera had been officially discontinued by Fujifilm. Now the “discontinued” designation has been removed, notes PetaPixel. Launched in  in 2021, the X-T30 features a 26.1-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor and the X-Processor 4 Quad-Core CPU. The camera can shoot 30 frames per second at 1.25x crop and 20 frames per second without a crop with the electronic shutter, or eight frames per second with the mechanical shutter.   Read the full Story >>

Exhibitions: Rahim Fortune's "Memory and Me," at CPW

Rahim Fortune has been caught in a whirlwind for the past year, notes the British Journal of Photography. His new exhibition “Between a Memory and Me” (at the CPW in Kingston, New York, through Jan. 11, 2026) comes after he was shortlisted for the 2025 Deutsche Börse prize and breaks new ground with his use of color to explore Black American life and create what the BJP calls “a compelling portrait of kinship in the American South.” Fortune says he is  “charting the influence of black Americana within Texas.”   Read the full Story >>
