Senate Republicans squeaked their sweeping tax and health policy bill over the finish line on Tuesday by a narrow margin. But in a 99-1 vote, the Senate voted overwhelmingly to strike an amendment to the Republican economic policy package that would have imposed a decade-long moratorium on attempts to regulate A.I. by the states. The vote “dealt a major blow to the tech industry on the verge of a policy victory,” notes The New York Times. The Wellcome Photography Prize competition celebrating visual storytelling focused on global health, science, and human experience has announced the 25 finalists in its 2025 competition. State of the Art: Should Photographers Be Worried by Google's Veo 3 AI Filmmaking Engine?

The answer to the above question, declares Capture magazine, is yes. Introduced in May, Veo 3 is “already sending ripples through creative industries,” notes Capture, explaining that Veo 3 is built atop the “vast and endless” content of YouTube videos and long established Google Images, giving it “an unparalleled education in visual language, narrative structure, cinematic styles, human movement, emotion, and environmental aesthetics.” Previously available only through Google Gemin, Veo 3  is now a full part of the image-generation platform Leonardo AI, “so it is more accessible than ever to creators all around the globe,” notes DIY Photography.   Read the full Story >>
